Based in the middle of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, we know all about adventure and a wedding is your biggest adventure yet. Set aside your limits and expectations and let’s see where we end up in creating your perfect event.
Roan was created to break the wedding mold. Even though Roan’s owner, Kelly Jones, got married only 4 years ago, it was as though you had to follow certain traditions and no one ever told her she didn’t have to. Now, with her own business she says go for it! The sky’s the limit. Roan’s professional staff wants to take the time to get to know you and craft a seamless event that reflects your story and personality. Inside of Roan you can find our team with degrees in Mass Communications, Education, Business, Hospitality, and Tourism Management. Our team combined has over a decade of experience in planning and executing events. In the wise words of Vanilla Ice, “If there was a problem, Yo, I’ll solve it! Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it”
If her tomboy self could see her now planning events… what happened to the WNBA? Actually, the plans were to be the first girl in the NBA… what a dreamer! Kelly graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Mass Media and English. She used her degree to become a local tv reporter and producer, which she still does on the side. You can also find her flipping houses and selling them. She lives with her husband Jordan and Saint Bernard Boomer. When not flipping, designing, selling, and planning you can find her working… yes, always working.

I like to brag about my other full-time gig because it’s not everyday you get to be a difference maker.
It was August 30, 2015...my sister’s Big Day! Majority of my day was spent meddling in florals, building tablescapes (what were then centerpieces), demanding orders to family and friends, while maintaining my composure and sanity. Not long after I began planning my own wedding...it wasn’t long after many fights with my mother and two florists later I knew something I had to give. I couldn’t do this alone...I needed help! I needed someone to bring my vision to life and think outside the box. I come from a small town, Burnsville, NC, and like most towns everyone expects the cookie cutter wedding...well not me! After convincing my mother that an aisle composed of bohemian inspired rugs would be the perfect detail to complete by Big Day, we were finally finished…or so I thought. Wrong...someone still had to be in charge of setting the tables and all the other finite details and unlike my sister's Big Day it wasn’t going to be my family...or so I thought. I wanted to spend time with my family and truly savor every minute before saying “I Do.” So here I am four years later totally consumed by it , making that my goal for every bride I get to serve.
“Planning a wedding in the North Carolina mountains? These are the ladies you want on your team! From day one, Kelly and Summer were friendly, helpful, and overall wonderful to work with. From the big decisions, like working on our day-of timeline to the smallest details, the Roan team was there to help along the way. When wedding weekend came around we couldn’t have asked for anything more—they went above and beyond to make sure our day was absolutely perfect and that we got the wedding we’d dreamed of!”
"Kelly and Summer worked very hard planning before and the day of the wedding. Those ladies are amazing.! They took charge the day of the wedding and decorated everything the way the bride had wanted it to be and more! They organized, supervised , cleaned up and packed up all our decorations back into our vehicles. I never lifted a thing! What an amazing wedding with such excellent planners! Thank you Kelly and Summer 😍"
